I was involved in the fall and spring plays, the musical, Speech Team, Thespians, French club, FNHS and Madrigal actors. I have met so may incredible friends and teachers here at PR and I’m going to be so sad saying goodbye to all of them.
I’m proud of my perseverance through struggles in my life throughout high school. Life can throw a lot at you but the most important thing is to keep going.
Get involved!!! My freshman and most of my sophomore year I tried so many things but nothing ever clicked, and I just thought there’s no place for me. Until I tried theater the spring of my sophomore year and I finally found a place and a community where I belong. In theater, I have had some of the best memories in my high school career and meet my best friends. So whether it’s football, or theater or Science Olympiad, try it because you never know, and if it’s not your thing try something else, you never know!
My favorite teacher is Mr. Terhaar and my favorite class was his DCUSH class. In his class I had so much fun doing all the different simulations and lessons. I also got to learn so much about U.S. history that I never knew before, especially the Jim Crow era, and it was so fascinating and completely shifted how I see America today. He is also just so incredibly kind to everyone and always makes his class fun and inviting.
My time at PR has taught me that the best things in life are done with those you love. Whether that means family, a significant other, friends or a pet, life is the best when there’s a community around you to share it with. And as long as you have those people, who are truly there for you, there’s nothing you can’t do.
Next year I’ll be at Winona State University studying secondary social science education. I’m excited to start a new chapter and follow in my parents’ footsteps at their alma mater. I hope to make new friends and amass tons of memories.
