I was involved in marching band, theater (props, costumes, and pit), and D&D club.
My advice for underclassmen is to challenge yourself when you can. Forgive yourself for mistakes, then actually try to do better. If something you’re doing feels wrong, it probably is (listen to your instincts!)
My time at PR taught me how to have thicker skin, and to be ok with people disliking me. At some point I realized that most of the time, bullying really wasn’t personal. My bullies definitely have it worse than me. I think I can (at the very least) say I’ve been resilient. I’m definitely not perfect now, but I’m proud that I’ve grown from freshman year. I hope that people remember me as someone who was nice (and if not, at least someone who was interesting).
My favorite teacher or class? That sort of feels like an impossible question, honestly! Mr. And Mrs. Wads, Mrs. Powe, Mrs. Hronick, and Kuhne all taught me different invaluable lessons. I’m really going to miss PR’s teachers. We really have a great teachers at PR (and awesome librarians!) I’m really going to miss talking to them! Most of all, I’m going to miss the kind of dynamic I have with my friends now.
Next year I’ll be attending UW-Whitewater as an English major! I’m really ready to try to live the best I can at college. I’m excited to see what kind of person I’ll turn out to be!
