At PR, I participated in 1 season of baseball, 2 seasons of track and field, and 4 seasons of cross country.
I will miss cross country. After being involved in sports for over a decade, I can confidently say cross country had the best team aspect, prioritizing the team over individual performance. Pasta parties were also a great way to connect with my teammates and make it feel like a family.
My advice for underclassmen is don’t be afraid to express yourself. In all honesty, no one really cares about how you dress or how you choose to display yourself. Stay true to your morals, beliefs, and try to meet new people whenever you can.
Next year I’ll be studying through the Engineering Pathways program at McHenry County College. I’m looking forward to meeting new people and exploring career interests. I’m excited to focus more on topics and classes that align more with my passions and interests.
