Seniors involved in the senior project pose with students from District 47 after a morning of games and play on April 9.

On April 9th, the senior class of 2014 invited local special needs children to a morning of fun and games.

The D47 Game Day has become a tradition among the senior classes at Prairie Ridge, with this year’s game day the 4th annual. Participating seniors lead the children through games like basketball, volleyball, and baggo, but many had fun just being pulled around on scooters.

Senior Project sponsor Mrs. Buck called this year’s event a “huge success.” She hopes that the participating seniors will “remember this day for years to come.”

As the morning of energy and excitement came to a close, the seniors in attendance could be seen with smiles across their faces. Many simply didn’t want the morning to end.

Senior Ashley Duda called the experience “rewarding…and fun to see all the kids enjoying themselves.”

Hopefully future senior classes will continue this now special tradition. Though it is a tiring morning, nothing can compare to the sight of a happy child being pulled around on a scooter for an hour.
