Five eleven and one hundred and eighty two pounds, Mike Lung is an athlete that Prairie Ridge High School is proud to have.
He is a four year high school athlete for both wrestling and football, with two and a half years as a varsity football player and three years as a varsity wrestler. He is a widely respected veteran in both sports with one state championship under his belt for football.
When asked what his plans were to make his trip down to state for wrestling this year successful, he quipped, “No breaks on the pain train.” He is clearly more determined than ever, and with his past history in the sport he is clearly a prime contender for the title.
When Mark Jayne, Prairie Ridge’s head wrestling coach, was questioned on what type of an athlete Mike is, he said that Lung “wrestles to win” and he “breaks his opponents.”
But the most impressive thing about Mike is his dedication to bettering himself. Coach Jayne said that immediately after his matches, Lung is in the weight room trying to push himself to his physical limits to better prepare himself for his next match.
This is the type of athlete and person that Mike is: nothing but perfection is good enough.
