With a competition or performance almost every weekend in October, the Wolfpack Marching band has continued to perfect its show Quidam.
October 1st marked the exciting NIU Red and Black Band Competition, where the band had the unique opportunity to perform in a college stadium. The excitement of presenting the show along with many of the best bands in the area got the players’ adrenaline pumping.
The band was more than ready to perform in its next competition, on October 9th. The Marengo Settler’s Days Competition is favored among my band students with a parade during the day and a performance in the evening. The band performed extremely well; the scores were the highest they have been in a few years, placing fourth in the parade competition.
October 15th was the friendly festival at Crystal Lake Central, featuring bands from McHenry, Harvard, and Central. It was a very entertaining afternoon that concluded the band’s field performances.
Lastly, the annual Band Blast concert occurred on the 19th featuring pep tunes and the show music.
The eventful season was certainly successful for the Wolfpack Marching Band!
