Lauren Roos was nominated by a faculty member as a senior to know from the class of 2021.

This year in particular, I learned that there are a lot of distractions in the world. Social media is the obvious culprit, but I also found myself having extra time to let outside voices get in my head specifically in academics. I’m glad I experienced this now so when I’m in college, I’ll know to accept each assignment result and test grade as it is, and focus on myself to see progression.

I’m going to miss the student-teacher relationship that builds over the course of the semester. There is nothing better than a class of strangers evolving into a close knit group of friends who can all joke around with the teacher. I’ll miss the continuous laughing that makes all the struggling worth it!

I’m most proud of conquering AP Physics my junior year. While I’m proud of my performance in the class, I’m more proud of myself in how I handled being unsuccessful and the lessons that came out of it. Lessons that I’ll take with me for the rest of my schooling and life in general.

I hope to be remembered as someone who was confident in their own personality and didn’t see a need to conform to the rest of society. This spans from the classes, to hobbies, to the way I treated other people.

Next year, I will be continuing my education at Miami University in Ohio. I’m looking forward to taking steps to progress toward my career goals whether that means joining career specific clubs or taking classes I’m interested in. Not to mention, I’m more than excited to be meeting new people along the way!
