Mia Coliflores was nominated by faculty as a class of 2020 senior to know.

During my time at home, I’ve turned my boredom into creativity. I’ve been playing with any and every kind of art supply I could get my hands on! I suggest everyone should start a new hobby because you can ‘expand your horizons’ and release your stress and creativity.

I’ll miss all the teachers that I’ve cultivated close relationships with. They’ve encouraged and supported me in ways I can’t begin to explain. They all certainly have a gift for helping and inspiring crazy kids like me.

I’m most proud of being part of the school’s theater productions as a crew head. I’ve made all of my friends onstage and backstage. Some of my favorite memories were even made while being stuck at the school theater until 9 p.m. for a whole week during musical season each year.

In all, I hope to be remembered as someone who strived to be her own person, whether that’s through my fashion sense, my art, or my opinions and thoughts. I hope to be remembered as a person who always found a way to put a smile on people’s faces and always offered her shoulder to cry on.

I’m definitely looking forward to starting fresh in college! I’m excited to make new friends, make new memories, and experience being on my own for the first time (I’ll definitely miss my mom’s cooking though)! My hope is to become a nurse that cares for those who need unconditional love and support and I know going to Carroll University will help me achieve that dream.
