Prairie Ridge High School: it might be an ordinary high school to someone else, but to me, it is a huge and very important part of my life. PR has given me friends who will always be by my side; it also has given me honor and anew perspective about school and life. But most importantly, it has given me memories which I will cherish for my entire life. In high school, it is important to study hard, do all of your homework, and get good grades. However, it is also important to get involved in extracurricular activities. By joining sports and clubs you not only make friends, but also find yourself. You find out where you want to be in future, and how can you improve yourself as a person.
I have been a part of Wolf Prints since sophomore year. By writing articles and conducting interviews for the newspaper, I have realized that I love being in the field of journalism. It has given me another career option aside from marketing, which I would love to be a part of. At the end of my high school journey, I am happy that I have written lots of articles and done tons of interviews. It was an honor to be a senior writer and an editor. I am also glad that I was a part of the theater, speech and the tennis team, yearbook, literary magazine, and FBLA. Finally, it was a HUGE honor being a senior class officer, and a member of the senior project. I hope by being a class officer and a member of the senior project, I was able to give back to PR. I would finally like to thank all of my teachers, sponsors and coaches. Especially, Mr. Gimm, Mr. Jauch , Coach Michelle Werkema, and Mrs. Flood. THANK YOU SO MUCH for always supporting me.
In life there is going to be ups and downs, success and failure; but never give up! Keep trying! And also, you have to keep working hard. If you are intimidated and thinking you will not be successful…give it a shot, so that in future, you do not have to look back, sigh, and say, “I didn’t even try.” As Mark Twain said, “The only place success comes before work is in the dictionary.”
