As the class of 2012 prepares to exit PR and get ready for the future ahead of them, a few staff members will also say their adieus. Among these staff members, Mrs. Bush will be among those leaving; but first, here is a retrospective look upon her experience at Prairie Ridge High School.
Mrs. Bush has worked in the computer lab and will be heading off towards retirement after many years of being at PR. Mrs. Bush began her career in the computer lab at Cary Grove, where her sons went to high school, and then later she came to PR.
When asked about her favorite memories at Prairie Ridge, Mrs. Bush stated she’s “enjoyed going down to Foods and testing food for them on the holidays” and also being a judge in the gingerbread contest. Mrs. Bush also is grateful for being able to participate in the Adult Living marriage panel, stating that she “really enjoyed that, the questions the students asked… and getting to know them a little more and give them an insight about what married life is like.” In addition, she’s grateful for all of the students and staff at PR that she has met and worked with.
As for retirement, Mrs. Bush plans to keep busy by pursing her love of genealogy and volunteering at a historical or a genealogy society. Her other plans include travel, reading, and possibly also volunteering at Helping Paws or Good Shepherd.
Regarding the graduating seniors at PR, Mrs. Bush wants them to have fun and make good decisions in college, but also take time to study and learn, perceptively stating that “life is not always handed to you on a platter… you have to work for what you want.”
