I tried many different activities at PR. I joined the robotics club, art club, astronomy club, and Spanish club. I also joined theater and performed in front of an audience for the first time ever.
My time at PR taught me that changes are good. (I immigrated from Bangladesh in 2020 and started my freshman year at PR.) I am capable of healing myself and growing from all the changes in life. PR taught me to be stronger and sharper in every moment of my life.
Advice I’ll give to underclassmen is this: never compare yourself to others. Everyone has a different story. You as an individual can’t expect to be the main character of another story. Build your own story and be yourself.
I want to be remembered as a kind person. An act of kindness is like a pebble dropped in a pond. Just as the pebble lifts lily pads at the other side of the pond, an act of kindness lifts the person you help but also many of those connected to that person.
I am committed to 4 years of college majoring in business administration at University of Illinois Chicago. UIC will be a new chapter of my life–moving to a big city, living on my own–which I am highly looking forward to.
