Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life will be on Netflix November 25.

On October 6th, the fans of Gilmore Girls celebrated the sixteenth anniversary of the show’s premiere also known as the Gilmoreversary. This year’s Gilmoreversary was especially important because on November 25th Netflix will be releasing a revival!

This show follows the life of hilarious mother-daughter duo Lorelai and Rory Gilmore as they go through the ups and downs of life. Gilmore Girls is known for its fast-paced witty dialogue. However, what made it the most popular was how real and relatable the issues portrayed in the article. From boys to strained relationships with family to Ivy-League colleges Gilmore Girls covers it all. Prairie Ridge junior Julia Alvey says “ I’m so so excited for the revival! The show is so iconic and I’m excited to see it in this new way. And Sutton Foster being a part of it now is super exciting too.”

The new revival will consist of four episodes that are each 90 minutes. Each episode will correlate to a season, which is why the revival episodes are called “Gilmore Girls: A Year In The Life”. Currently, fans do not know too much about what might happen in these episodes, but there are some things that we can expect from interviews with the cast and information given from the director, Amy Sherman Palladino, herself. So here’s what we know so far:

  • The four main characters are back! Lauren Graham (Lorelai Gilmore), Alexis Bledel (Rory Gilmore), Kelly Bishop (Emily Gilmore) and Scott Patterson (Luke Danes) are all confirmed to reprise their roles. But they aren’t the only ones returning to Stars Hollow! Many characters from the original cast will be coming back.
  • Rory will not have a love triangle. No, not one, not two, but all three of Rory’s ex-boyfriends will be coming back…so would that make it a love square, a love rhombus, or a love quadrilateral?
  • A lot of stars from Bunheads, another show by Amy Sherman Palladino, will be joining the Gilmore Girls cast. It is unknown if they will be the same characters from Bunheads, but fans are excited to see how the main characters fit into the story.
  • Edward Herrmann, the actor who played Richard Gilmore,  passed away two years ago, and the show will be acknowledging his loss by showing Emily’s loneliness.
  • Rory is moving back to Stars Hollow after working in Brooklyn for a few years. She’s going through a crisis where she’s stuck in the same routine and doesn’t know how to make her life interesting again.
  • Rory and Paris go back to Chilton. In some of the released pictures Paris and Rory are shown in front of a class of Chilton students. It’s unknown what they’re doing there but some fans theorize that they could be teachers there or simply visiting for career day.
  • There are new townspeople. While we loved our old townies, it would be illogical to assume no one had moved into the town in the past 16 years. Entertainment Weekly reports that there are new citizens of Stars Hollow that will stick out: a Peruvian couple, an extremely unhappy handyman named Alejandro, and we all get to meet Lane’s twin boys who are now nine years old.

So if anyone is looking for another way to procrastinate school work or is simply looking for a new TV show then Gilmore Girls could be the way to go! Tune onto Netflix on November 25 to catch the revival of this iconic show.
