New Faces from New Places
German exchange program starts today
On Tuesday October 14th you may notice a few new faces accompanying your fellow classmates. That’s because it’s time for PR’s annual German GAPP Exchange.
Several German 3 and 4 students are taking part in the exchange, and as a part of it, the students who are hosting for the exchange will be shadowed by their exchange partners for a few days.
Linda Pozen, a senior taking part in the exchange, is excited to be able to have to opportunity to “connect with other cultures and learn how people actually live instead of just what the textbook tells you.”
The German students will be staying for three weeks and German NHS has plenty planned to fill their visit.
Claire Mahon, a junior, can’t wait to teach the exchange students what life in America is like. “They don’t celebrate Halloween over there so we’re going to be doing a lot of typical Halloween and fall things. We’ll also be taking them to a lot of football games” she added.
There’s plenty planned for them when they arrive, and Prairie Ridge will welcome them with open doors in their goal to learn more about America. So look out for some new students arriving in the coming days!
