Chelsea Gale (farthest to the left) pulls ahead at the start of the girls class 2A state cross country race November 4 in Peoria, Illinois.

PR freshman Chelsea Gale competed in the class 2A race at the state cross country meet on November 4th in Peoria, Illinois. Qualifying as an individual, Chelsea was running this race without her team but that didn’t hold her back. Chelsea finished in 10th place with a time of 17 minutes and 28 seconds for the three mile race.

The PR girls cross country coach, Coach MacDonald says that Chelsea ran great. “Her time was the fastest time for a 3 mile course in our school history. Top 10 in state for 2A is a great honor. She is only our second All State Runner!”

Coach MacDonald says that the whole team had a great season,  “The team loves how much stronger they are, both mentally and physically. They come out of this experience with incredibly strong friendships and a new confidence on what they can handle and accomplish.” MacDonald has hopes of the whole team making it to state next year!

Good luck to the team next year, and congratulations to Chelsea!
