While watching a Varsity Game you are filled with excitement, anticipation, and sometimes pure adrenaline. The same can be said for players, coaches, even the announcers are filled with a unstoppable feeling of fun, and excitement. But looking to the future, specifically three years from now these players will have left the school long behind. And this year’s rookies will be veterans of the field.
With a final record of 4-5, the Freshman A team fought hard in every game and always left the field stronger than they were when they entered. B team also fought hard with a final 2-2 record. With the season coming to an end it brings a sad feeling to both players and coaches.
But over some very good teams like Mchenry, and Glenbard South there is always a sense of achievement.
Assistant Coach Kerry Kohlbacher says “We start with a group of guys, who really don’t know each other, and have them work together as a team. If we succeed in that it doesn’t matter what the record is.”
With one year down these students will soon be the Sophomore and Varsity players in the years to come.
