RAM Students Help Promote Crystal Lake Centennial

Seniors in Mrs. Pham’s Rhetorical Analysis of Media class (Adrian Nuno, Andrew Nuno, Neil Pretkelis, Brandon Fritchley, and Jerome Veit, with sophomore Aidan O’Connor providing the voiceover) created this video for the Crystal Lake Centennial, showcasing old and new photos of recognizable locations throughout the city. This project was the final assessment of the advertising unit.

Another student in the class, Liz Pincsak, shared her Crystal Lake Centennial video advertisement with Wolf Prints. Here is how she describes her video:

The slogan for my Centennial advertisement is “Growing from our roots into the future.”  It represents what we need to do to get the youth ready.

We have to learn how to unplug from the online world and listen to our elders to learn about Crystal Lake. We should be listening. It is important to hear these great stories because it teaches us about our past.

Even if some teenagers plan to leave Crystal Lake, it doesn’t mean everyone is. Someone has to be our mayor in the future; someone has to be our law enforcement.

I want to get our youth interested in this great celebration since most are questioning what it really is, yet I also want to get the older generation interested in celebrating this fun time.

It’s important to know our past to grow into a better future.

Both Pincsak and the “Admen” have been asked to provide copies of their videos to play on the Crystal Lake cable channel.
