Bears fans have been all but optimistic this season, but if they could have pulled off a win against the Packers, there still could have been a chance. For the 190th career matchup between the Packers and Bears, both teams talked about their productive week of practices. Both teams coming off their bye weeks were energized for the upcoming rivalry game.

From kickoff to the final whistle, it was clear that the Bears’ game plan was a failure. They failed to be consistent, only running 4 times on their first 17 offensive snaps. The Packers’ skilled receivers exploited the below average 28th ranked defense of the Bears.

Packers’ Quarterback Aaron Rodgers threw an impressive six touchdown passes during the first half. It seems as though Rodgers could have beaten the all time Touchdown pass record during the game on Sunday. If Rodgers had thrown 2 more touchdown passes he would have been the all time Touchdown leader for a single game. Because of their huge lead, Rodgers was pulled in the 3rd quarter. He only needed 2 more touchdowns passes for the record.

Fans seem to be losing hope. Dedicated Bears fan and PR student Peter Stuart said after the game, “I now see the Bears defense as a high school defense.”

The Packers showed promise on defense as well. Clay Matthews dominated the defensive side of the ball having 11 tackles and a sack. The Bears stood no chance against the Packers defensive game plan.

The Bears were forced to be pass the ball early. The Packers were winning 21-0 halfway through the first quarter. This forced the Bears to be a passing offense, which led to 2 Cutler interceptions. The Bears offense had to take risks, but they couldn’t execute.

According to Bears.com Marc Trestman said after the 55-14 loss, “we’re focused on the Vikings.” Trestman who is 11 and 14 as Bears head coach is hoping to turn things around on all aspects of play. He has not addressed his job security, but fans are sure he is feeling the pressure.
